Did he try it?

Here's something that's been bothering me, especially since the D5 conference (besides this awful weather). Steve Jobs has been known to make his distaste for Windows clear. I've never seen or read an interview of the Apple leader, where, when asked about Windows, he did not make some disparaging remark. Now, I've used many OSes, including most flavors of Windows (starting from 3.11 on up to XP), various Linux distros (Corel's, Red Hat, SuSE, Ubuntu/Kubuntu), and Mac (System 7 or 8 - I forget, 8.6, 9.x, and 10.4.x). So, I have a pretty clear idea, from my point of view, what each platform offers, its strengths and weaknesses. I have not used, nor even seen in the wild, a NEXTSTEP system, so I can't comment on that. But, I'm pretty sure that Steve Jobs has used plenty of NEXTSTEP systems.

Getting back to my point. It's not that Steve Jobs' remarks about Windows or Microsoft bother me. I tend to agree with his assessments thoroughly. What bothers me is that, as far as I know, no one has ever asked this one simple question, "Mr. Jobs, you have been clear in your disdain for Windows. Any version of Windows. What is your basis for your dislike; have you ever used Windows?"

I'm betting the answer is yes. But, you never know.
